Trainee and Early Career Day Grants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Trainee & Early Career (T&EC) Day<\/a> grants are available to those who are in an oncological training program (i.e., medical, radiation or surgical) or within five years of receiving consultant qualification \u2013 FRACP, FRACS, RANZCR or equivalent. All travel and registration for the successful applicant will be organised through Breast Cancer Trials (BCT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

T&EC Day Grant Applications are now open, and will close Monday 25 May 2026<\/strong>. You will be notified of the outcome of your application shortly after.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the T&EC Grant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The T&EC Day Grant includes return economy class airfares and accommodation for the duration of the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note registration to this event, including the T&EC dinner is free. Recipients are encouraged to attend the main BCT ASM. Flights can be arranged to accommodate this, with an additional accommodation than the awarded two nights, at the cost of the recipient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant Responsibilities<\/summary>
\n

Recipients are expected to be available and participate in all Trainee & Early Career Day activities, including the social dinner on Friday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recipients are expected to provide a report which summaries how the recipient benefited from receiving the grant within 30 days of the conclusion of the weekend. The report should be submitted to asm@bctrials.org.au.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Selection Process<\/summary>
\n

Applicants will be required to complete an application form online, with the deadline for submission being 25 May 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The T&EC Day Organising Committee will subsequently review each application and select the best cases for presentation. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission by early June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The successful applicants will be expected to present a patient case and then discuss a seminal piece of evidence (publication or conference abstract) that supports a key decision in that patient\u2019s care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cases will be selected for presentation for an MDT discussion that will occur during the day. You will be notified in advance if your case has been selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A multi-disciplinary panel will be present to participate in discussion points around the case. Each presenter will have a total of 20 minutes. They should aim to present their case and discuss supportive evidence in four slides maximum, with only one slide to include data information, and the remaining time will be left for discussion. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
