Gelareh Farshid
Professor Gelareh Farshid is an international expert in breast and soft tissue pathology with substantial experience in population based screening for breast cancer.
She is a senior Consultant Pathologist SA Pathology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Clinical Professor, Schools of Medicine and Medical Sciences, University of Adelaide and member of the PathWest Board of Directors. She is the Treasurer for the Australasian IAP. Among other roles, Gelareh is a member of the International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting – Lymph Node and Sentinel node biopsy in breast cancer committee.
She chairs the RCPA’s multidisciplinary expert groups involved with Structured Reporting of Breast Cancer and for Australia’s HER2 testing program. Gelareh contributes to BreastScreen Australia’s Quality Management and Clinical Advisory committees, which are charged with accreditation and national policy initiatives for the Program.
Gelareh appreciates combining full time clinical responsibilities with applied clinical research. In particular, she enjoys engaging with colleagues from various disciplines in innovative projects, aiming to improve healthcare.
