Breast Cancer Trials (BCT) 47th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) will be held at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, Queensland. The city is framed by the winding Brisbane River and the lush backdrop of Mount Coot-tha, with subtropical wilderness lingering nearby – just beyond the city’s edge.
Exploring Brisbane is convenient and accessible thanks to its well-connected public transport system. Translink operates an extensive network of buses, trains and ferries, providing reliable services throughout the city and surrounding areas. Key attractions are easily reached by public transport, including the CityCat ferries along the Brisbane River, making it simple for visitors to navigate without the nead for a car.

Public Transport
Delegates can easily utilise public transport, as Central Station is directly beneath the hotel. For convenience, hotel guests should use the on-site parking, daily visitors can use Cornerstone, and longer-term visitors may consider Parkhound.
Parking Options
For those who require parking, the Sofitel offers an underground car park with 260 spaces available via Turbot Street. Self-parking costs $50 per vehicle per night, and valet parking is $60 per vehicle per night. Alternative parking includes ‘Cornerstone Parking’.

Brisbane Airport
Flights and transfers to and from Brisbane, Queensland are the responsibility of delegates. Brisbane Airport (BNE) is the primary airport for flights to and from Brisbane. Residents of Australia will not require a passport to travel to Brisbane.
For all non-Australian residents traveling to Brisbane, you will require a passport and a valid visa. Please contact your travel agent or your nearest Embassy to check what passport and visa requirements are relevant to you.
Public Transport
Public Transport – Go Card
The easiest way to travel is with a go card, valid on buses, trains, trams and ferries. Tap on and off, and enjoy cheaper fares than paper tickets. Cards are sold at stations, retailers, and online.
CityCats & Ferries
Brisbane’s CityCats glide along the river, stopping at key spots like South Bank, New Farm, UQ, and Eagle Street Pier. For short hops, try the free CityHopper ferry, running every 10–15 minutes in the CBD.
Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus
For sightseeing, the Brisbane Explorer offers open-top, hop-on hop-off tours with 24- or 48-hour passes covering major attractions like South Bank and Mt Coot-tha.
Ground Transport
All of Brisbane’s public transport services now have updated onboard payment equipment allowing delegates to use debit/ credit cards to tap on/ tap off for their journeys. You will note that Queensland’s public transport fares are 50cents one way. You can travel from Brisbane city to Gympie or to the Gold Coast for 50 cents.
Delegates must tap on (start journey) and tap off (end journey) otherwise a fare of $2.50 will be charged.
Taxi Services
Brisbane is served by major taxi companies including 13cabs and Black & White Cabs. You can hail a cab on the street, find one at taxi ranks around the city, or book by phone or via their apps.
A taxi from Brisbane Airport to the CBD takes around 20 minutes (traffic dependent). For rideshare, Uber and DiDi are both widely available and can be booked in minutes through their apps.
